The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put top cover cornerback Carlton Davis III on injured reserve Thursday with a quad injury.

Davis, 24, will have to miss at least three games.

Davis suffered the injury in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. Davis joins fellow starter Sean Murphy-Bunting on short term IR. Murphy-Bunting suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 1.

Cornerback Jamel Dean is back at practice after missing the Patriots game.

Davis had an interception in Week 1 and has 15 tackles on the season to go with five passes defensed. He has started 44 of the 45 games played with the Bucs since they took him in the second round of the 2018 draft. He has six career INTs.

The Bucs signed Richard Sherman last week, inserting him into the starting lineup after three practices.

The Bucs (3-1) host the Miami Dolphins (1-3) on Sunday.
