New York City FC signed goalkeeper Mac Learned to a first-team contract on Friday.

Learned, 23, is under contract for 2026 with options for June 2027 and the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons.

He made his MLS NEXT Pro debut with New York City FC II in March and recorded one clean sheet in 14 matches.

“Competing in MLS NEXT Pro … helped prepare me for this opportunity, and I’m incredibly grateful for the role everyone played in helping me reach this point in my career,” Learned said.

Learned joins Matt Freese, Greg Ranjitsingh and Tomas Romero in New York City’s goalkeeper group.

NYCFC opens the 2026 MLS regular season at the Los Angeles Galaxy on Feb. 22.
