Kaety L’Amoreaux collected 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals and put the finishing touches on No. 25 Fairfield’s 57-51 victory over Rider on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament in Atlantic City, N.J.

The top-seeded Stags (29-1) saw a 10-point lead whittled down to four after Jessika Schiffer capped a 6-0 Broncs run with a jumper that made it 50-46 with 1:01 left in the game.

But L’Amoreaux proceeded to take over, converting a layup with 43 seconds to go, then adding five free throws in the final 18 seconds to seal the win.

Janelle Brown added 16 points and Meghan Andersen had 10 to go along with eight boards for Fairfield, which has rattled off 27 straight victories, matching Marist (2011) for the longest winning streak in MAAC history.

Taylor Langan netted 12 points and Schiffer chipped in 11 as eighth-seeded Rider (10-21) failed to take advantage of outshooting the Stags 41.9 percent to 37.3 percent from the field. The Broncs were hampered by 21 turnovers.
