WNBA: Report: Wings set to deal Allisha Gray to Dream

Georgia native Allisha Gray appears to be heading home.

The Dallas Wings are set to trade the 28-year-old guard to the Atlanta Dream, ESPN reported on Wednesday.

No details of the swap were known, but the deal would involve draft picks, per ESPN. The Dream are set to select third and eighth overall in the upcoming WNBA draft.

Gray has spent all six of her WNBA seasons with the Wings, who selected her with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft. She was the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year after averaging 13 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 2017.

In 2021, Gray captured a gold medal representing the United States in the three-on-three basketball competition at the Olympics in Tokyo, teaming with Jackie Young, Stefanie Dolson and Kelsey Plum. She was part of an NCAA championship team at South Carolina in 2017.

Last season, Gray produced a career-high averages in scoring (13.3 points per game) and assists (2.5 per game) while logging her second-best rebounding average (4.8 per game).

In 180 career WNBA games, including 160 starts, Gray has averages of 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

She is set to join an Atlanta team that went 14-22 last season and failed to make the playoffs. Dallas finished 18-18 and was knocked out in the first round of the postseason.
