The Las Vegas Aces will aim to continue their torrid start to the season on Sunday afternoon when they visit star rookie Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever in Indianapolis.

A’ja Wilson scored 21 points as the Aces (5-0) opened a four-game road trip with a 92-87 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Friday. The reigning WNBA MVP is contributing 19.4 points per game to go along with a team-high 8.4 rebounds.

“We know we have a lot more growth and a lot more things we need to do,” Wilson said, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Yes, we’re grinding out wins, but we’re putting ourselves in positions we don’t need to.”

Jackie Young scored 20 points on Friday, marking the fourth time this season that she has reached that plateau.

“We need to be pushed a little bit down the stretch. They pushed us,” Aces coach Becky Hammon said, per the Review-Journal.

The Aces have won nine consecutive regular-season games dating back to 2022.

The Fever (1-3) concluded a 1-2 road trip by splitting a pair of three-point decisions, capped by an 81-78 setback to the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.

Boston, who scored a career-high 20 points in that game, was named the WNBA Rookie of the Month for May — and for good reason. Boston is averaging 15.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots in four games since being selected by Indiana with the top overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft out of South Carolina.

“Aliyah’s special, man,” Indiana coach Christie Sides said. “She wants to learn. She’s asking questions. She’s asking great questions. She wants to know why things are happening. She’s watching a lot of video. She’s doing extra work without coaches. She’s just a great presence down there that never stops fighting. She never stops fighting and her basketball IQ is really high for a post player.”

Kelsey Mitchell added 19 points versus the Sun, and NaLyssa Smith collected 14 points and 15 rebounds.
