OVERWATCH: OverActive Media eliminates outstanding OWL entry fees

Canadian esports company OverActive Media confirmed Thursday that all Overwatch League entry fees yet to be paid have been waived.

Per the press release, the fees are valued at $6 million USD.

The Sports Journal reported in June that OverActive’s deal extends to the rest of the league. This also points to OWL entering its final chapter from a business perspective.

OverActive, the owner of the OWL expansion franchise Toronto Defiant, is a public company that is required by Canadian law to disclose pertinent business information.

OverActive CEO Adam Adamou wrote on Twitter that the waiving of the entry fee balance was contingent on concluding the OWL season.
