Steven Wilson, who hit a lull after winning three of the first four eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series events of the season, bounced back Tuesday to prevail in overtime at a virtual Kansas Speedway.

Tucker Minter, who had won the past two races and three of the past four, finished in second place on Tuesday.

Wilson, in the No. 77 Chevrolet, came in 0.070 seconds ahead of Minter, in the No. 97 Chevrolet.

“That was really fun,” said Wilson, an Iowa City resident. “I was driving hard there that whole second run pretty much after I got to Tucker’s outside. We were just brawling. Clean battle as well, which is always good.”

Wilson was pleased with the race’s virtual venue.

“This was a racetrack that just suited me,” he said. “I recommended that we add it to the schedule last year when we were talking about it, and I’m glad they added it, obviously now. But I love racing here, I’ve always loved racing here.

“This is a racetrack that I think provides great racing, and I think we saw middle, bottom, top (racing on the track) all feasible tonight, which is really awesome.”

Minter, a Warrenton, Va., resident said of the showdown, “It ended up being a pretty good race tonight.”

Casey Kirwan, in the No. 27 Chevrolet, took third place, and pole sitter Parker White drove the No. 95 Chevrolet to fourth place after leading the most laps. Vicente Salas had the highest finish among drivers not in a Chevy, claiming fifth place in the No. 11 Toyota.

The series returns to action on June 17 at a virtual Iowa Speedway.
