Washington Spirit defender Anna Heilferty will miss the entire 2023 season with a knee injury sustained during preseason camp, the team announced Saturday.
Heilferty, 23, recently signed a two-year contract with a team option for 2025.
She appeared in 21 matches and contributed two assists in her second season with the Spirit in 2022.
Washington opens the NWSL regular season at home against the OL Reign on March 26.
