The Seattle Reign acquired defender Hanna Glas from the Current on Monday, sending Kansas City $10,000 in intra-league transfer funds and an additional $10,000 in intra-league transfer funds if certain performance-based incentives are achieved.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Hanna Glas to the club,” Reign general manager Lesle Gallimore said. “Her club and international experience provide the depth we currently need in our squad as we continue our push to make the playoffs. Despite suffering multiple setbacks from injury during her career, Hanna has shown resilience in her ability to get back to top form and compete at our level with quality.”

Glas, 31, had signed a two-year contract with the Current before the 2023 season, but a knee injury before the season kept her out of action until 2024.

Glas, who made her Current debut on July 27, has one assist in three games this season.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Reign,” Glas said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a high-level club with such a talented group. I can’t wait to start this new chapter and give my all for the club and the fans.”

Glas played 40 matches for Bayern Munich in the German Frauen Bundesliga from 2020-22 after three seasons (19 matches) with Paris Saint-Germain in France.
