Claire Lavogez scored the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute and added another in stoppage time as the visiting Kansas City Current remained unbeaten on the season by rallying for a 3-1 victory Friday against Angel City FC at Los Angeles.

Vanessa DiBernardo scored the game-tying goal in the 54th minute and Adrianna Franch made five saves as the first-place Current (5-0-1, 16 points) defeated Angel City for the second time in four weeks, earning a 4-2 victory at home March 30.

Claire Emslie scored a goal and Dijana Haracic made seven saves for Angel City (2-3-1, 7 points), who saw their two-game winning streak come to an end. It was the club’s first loss since falling at Kansas City.

Angel City saddled Kansas City with a rare deficit this season, taking a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute when Emslie received a pass in the penalty area, worked her way around the Current’s Stine Pedersen and scored with her left foot past Franch and into the top right of the goal.

It was Emslie’s fourth goal of the season and third in her past two games.

DiBernardo got the Current even early in the second half when her blast from outside of the penalty area was out of reach of Haracic and into the top left corner of the goal. It was DiBernardo’s third of the season.

Lavogez put the Current up 2-1 in the 90th minute with her first goal of the season on a redirect while crossing through the penalty area. She added another three minutes later off a rebound from a Temwa Chawinga shot to give Kansas City 20 goals in six games.
