Bay FC scored three goals in the second half to earn their first-ever home win, 3-2, in a wild match against the visiting Seattle Reign on Sunday.

In the 10th minute, Reign goalkeeper Claudia Dickey snared Deyna Castellanos’ far-side attempt from the left side. Five minutes later, Dickey came off her line to deny Racheal Kundananji from the left edge of the goal area.

But Seattle got on the board first on a Bay own goal in the 27th minute.

Lily Woodham’s cross into the box from the left side hit the foot of Bay defender Alyssa Malonson and then deflected off defender Kayla Sharples and into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Sharples tied the score for Bay early in the second half off a corner. Defender Emily Menges kept the ball in and put it into the goal area, where Sharples headed it past Dickey in the 48th minute.

Alexis Loera put the hosts ahead 2-1 in the 58th minute with a screaming shot from outside the box.

Dickey left the match in the 60th minute with an injury. Laurel Ivory came on in relief.

Tess Boade appeared to extend it to 3-1 in the 81st minute but it was waved off as she was offside.

Two minutes later, Bethany Balcer got her left foot on a ball in the area to tie it for the Reign.

Joelle Anderson’s shot in the box gave Bay a 3-2 lead in the 87th minute.

The Reign thought they tied it two minutes later, but the flag went up for offside.

Asisat Oshoala’s goal for Bay in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time was overturned after video review confirmed a handball.
