Tye Kartye and Will Cuylle each scored twice as the New York Rangers remained unbeaten at home by pulling away for a 6-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.

The Rangers improved to 4-0-0 at home in their first game since losing star goaltender Igor Shesterkin to a season-ending lower-body injury in Friday’s 3-1 loss at Washington.

Kartye recorded his second career two-goal game after scoring twice for the Rangers on April 15, 2026, at Tampa Bay. He scored 27 seconds into the contest and snapped a 2-2 tie with 1:35 remaining in the second period.

Cuylle scored early in the second period and with 4:38 remaining in the third for his fifth career two-goal game as the Rangers won for the fifth time in seven games to open the season.

J.T. Miller assisted on both of Kartye’s goals, while Alexis Lafreniere scored a power-play goal and added an assist on his 25th birthday. Gabe Perreault contributed a goal and an assist in the third period, and Mika Zibanejad assisted on New York’s first two goals of the period.

Dylan Garand made 19 saves in his first game as New York’s No. 1 goaltender following Shesterkin’s injury. Backup Joonas Korpisalo is expected to miss four more weeks due to a lower-body injury.

Jake DeBrusk scored in the first period, and defenseman Elias Pettersson netted a short-handed goal in the second, shortly before Kartye’s second tally, as the Canucks lost their fourth straight game.

Vancouver goaltender Kevin Lankinen allowed six goals on 25 shots.

The Rangers opened the scoring when Kartye swooped in to convert the rebound of Miller’s shot.

DeBrusk tied it with a one-timer from the right circle with 2:56 remaining in the first period. Cuylle put the Rangers back in front 2:09 into the second, gliding past Vancouver’s Linus Karlsson before lifting a shot from above the right circle past Lankinen.

After Pettersson scored on a rush with a shot from the left circle, Kartye restored New York’s lead by taking a cross-ice feed from Miller, skating past Max Sasson and ripping a shot from above the right faceoff dot past Lankinen.

Lafreniere extended the lead on the power play 64 seconds into the third period when he dove for a loose puck and tapped it past Lankinen, who was out of position after colliding with a teammate.

Perreault made it 5-2 nearly six minutes into the third by redirecting Adam Fox’s shot into the net. Cuylle then converted a pass from Eeli Tolvanen to complete the scoring.
