James Reimer made 30 saves for his 26th career shutout, while Erik Karlsson and Steven Lorentz scored second-period goals, as the visiting San Jose Sharks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 Sunday night.

Reimer was strong when needed — stopping a Philadelphia push within the first minute of the game, then halting all 17 shots he faced in the third period to record his first shutout since Nov. 28, 2001, at Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Sharks — who won for just the second time in eight games this season and split a four-game East Coast trip — broke through while owning a 12-5 shot advantage during the second period. Coming into the contest, San Jose, which also got an empty-netter from Nico Sturm, had been outscored 16-4 in the second this season.

In his seventh NHL start, Felix Sandstrom made 22 saves for the Flyers, who won four of their first five contests. Philadelphia, which totaled 17 goals entering the contest, suffered its first defeat in three home games.

Blackhawks 5, Kraken 4

Chicago scored twice in 13 seconds in the third period to rally for its third straight win against visiting Seattle.

Tyler Johnson scored the tying goal with 7:03 remaining with Jason Dickinson following with the decisive tally. Johnson scored two goals, and Seth Jones and Patrick Kane each had two assists for the Blackhawks, who have trailed by two goals in each of their past three games. Alex Stalock made 30 saves.

Jared McCann had a goal and an assist and Martin Jones made 22 saves for the Kraken.

Red Wings 5, Ducks 1

Dominik Kubalik had a goal and two assists to lead Detroit to a home win over Anaheim.

Dylan Larkin had a goal and an assist and Ville Husso made 32 saves in goal for Detroit, which scored three power-play goals on five attempts with the man advantage. For the first time since 2011, the Red Wings have opened the season without a regulation loss in their first five games.

Trevor Zegras scored the lone goal of the game and John Gibson made 36 saves for Anaheim, which went winless on a five-game road trip against Eastern Conference opponents.

Blue Jackets 5, Rangers 1

Daniil Tarasov made 30 saves for his first NHL victory as visiting Columbus defeated New York.

Zach Werenski, Andrew Peeke, Yegor Chinakhov, Eric Robinson and Kent Johnson scored for Columbus. Liam Foudy, Jack Roslovic and Jakub Voracek each added two assists.

Artemi Panarin scored for the Rangers, who have lost two in a row. Jaroslav Halak stopped 16 shots for New York.

Panthers 3, Islanders 2

Backup goalie Spencer Knight made 23 saves for his second win in as many tries this season, leading host Florida to a win over New York at Sunrise, Fla.

The Panthers, who also beat the Islanders on opening night, got goals from Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen and Ryan Lomberg.

Anders Lee scored two power-play goals for the Islanders, and both of them came on rebounds. Mathew Barzal picked up two assists for New York, which also got 29 saves from backup goalie Semyon Varlamov.
