Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point has been ruled out for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the host Florida Panthers on Thursday in Sunrise, Fla.

Lightning coach Jon Cooper on Wednesday announced the news in regard to Point, who sat out the series opener after sustaining a lower-body injury in the team’s Game 7 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Tampa Bay, however, overcame Point’s absence on Tuesday and skated to a 4-1 win over Florida.

Point, 26, has collected two goals and two assists in seven playoff games after totaling 28 and 30, respectively, in 66 contests during the regular season.
