The Winnipeg Jets acquired forward Sean Monahan from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

The Canadiens received a 2024 first-round pick and a conditional 2027 third-round pick in exchange.

Monahan, 29, ranks third on the Canadiens with 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) and has appeared in all 49 games this season.

The Jets reached the All-Star break in fourth place in the Western Conference with 65 points, six behind the first-place Vancouver Canucks. The Canadiens are tied for 13th in the Eastern Conference.

Monahan is in his second season with Montreal after nine campaigns with the Calgary Flames, who drafted him with the No. 6 overall pick in 2013. He has accumulated 514 points (231 goals, 283 assists) in 730 career games.
