Former NFL offensive lineman and College Football Hall of Famer Shelby Jordan passed away on Sept. 9. He was 70.
The New England Patriots, who Jordan played for from 1975-82, announced his death on Friday.

Jordan started 87 of 95 games played for the Patriots before being dealt to the then-Los Angeles Raiders in 1983. He spent four seasons with the Raiders, starting just five of 56 games, and was a member of the team’s 1983 season Super Bowl winning squad.
Prior to his NFL career, Jordan was a college star for Division III Washington University in St. Louis. He excelled as a linebacker for Washington University from 1969-72 and was team captain and team MVP.
Jordan was a seventh-round pick in the 1973 draft by the Houston Oilers but never played for the team due to a dispute over contract negotiations.
