The Atlanta Falcons made running back Cordarrelle Patterson inactive for Thursday night’s contest against the New England Patriots due to an ankle injury.

Patterson’s participation was considered a game-time decision as the Falcons (4-5) played host to the Patriots (6-4), coach Arthur Smith said Wednesday.

Patterson was a limited participant in practice during the week after injuring the ankle in Sunday’s 34-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. In that game, he was limited to a season-low 15 snaps on offense and five on special teams.

Patterson, 30, leads the Falcons in rushing yards (303), receiving touchdowns (five), kickoff return yards (332) and all-purpose yards (1,103).

Also inactive for Atlanta were safety Jaylinn Hawkins (ankle) and cornerback Kendall Sheffield (hamstring).
