Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is up in the air as Green Bay enters Week 13.

Test results were not available to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur on Monday when he said Rodgers, who left Sunday’s loss at Philadelphia with a rib injury, was better.

“I know he’s feeling better today,” LaFleur said Monday. “I think we’ll know more in the next couple days.”

X-rays taken in Philadelphia were inconclusive as to whether Rodgers suffered broken ribs. He has been playing with an avulsion fracture in his right thumb, a revelation brought to light last week.

Whether Rodgers can suit up for the Packers to play the Chicago Bears this week is unclear. On Sunday night, LaFleur said Rodgers apologized for leaving the game in the third quarter. He was injured in the first half.

“I might not be able to go (in practice) Wednesday, but as long as there’s no major structural damage, I’ll try to get back out there,” Rodgers said Sunday.

The Packers (4-8) are not discussing whether to “shut down” Rodgers, LaFleur said. Rodgers said “as long as we’re mathematically alive, I’d like to be out there.”

“This is one of the toughest dudes I’ve ever been around. I don’t for one second question his toughness, his desire to be out there, desire to compete,” LaFleur said. “As a matter of fact he apologized to me, and I’m like ‘Don’t ever apologize to me.’ This guy is the ultimate competitor.”

Backup Jordan Love would be prepared to start at Chicago. He threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson after Rodgers left the game on Sunday night.

“There’s obviously a lot of other conversations that come into play once you’re eliminated. I’ll be open to those conversations,” Rodgers said.
