New Jersey Institute of Technology head coach Brian Kennedy resigned Monday after seven seasons, the school said.

Stadium reported earlier that NJIT had parted ways with Kennedy, a four-year assistant at the school before becoming head coach.

“I would like to thank Coach Kennedy for his for his hard work and dedication to the University and our student-athletes during his time at NJIT as both an assistant and head coach,” director of athletics Lenny Kaplan said.

The Highlanders finished the regular season 7-23 and in eighth place in the America East. Only Albany had a worse conference mark than NJIT’s 4-12.

Kennedy’s teams were 81-123 in his tenure, which included just one winning season (2018-19).
