Bucks Gaming went 2-0 on Tuesday and finds themselves atop the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Slam Open standings as a pair of previous unbeatens went down to open the event’s second week.

Bucks Gaming (6-0, 60 points) sit 10 points clear of DUX Gaming, while a trio of teams sit at 40 points. In group play, each win is worth 10 points; losses garner zero points.

Group play in the 25-team event runs through Friday, with each team playing eight group games. At the end of group play, the teams will be seeded as part of the 32-team Slam Open playoffs (seven community teams will fill out the rest of the bracket).

The playoffs will start out as best-of-five and double-elimination, with the first rounds played remotely from March 21-24. The final 12 teams will then face off in-person from March 29-April 1 in Washington. Those matches will be best-of-five but single elimination.

When play began Tuesday, Bucks Gaming and Grizz Gaming were tied for first with 40 points in four games. NBL Oz Gaming out of Australia were in third with 30 points.

Bucks Gaming then got all they could handle in their first game of the day, needing five games to beat Celtics Crossover Gaming. The Bucks then beat Hawks Talon GC 3-1 to improve to 6-0.

It was quite a different story for Grizz Gaming, who took their first loss of the event at the hands of Mavs Gaming, 3-1, then fell 3-2 to 76ers GC.

NBL Oz Gaming played only once on Tuesday, but also absorbed their first loss in a tight battle with Lakers Gaming, 3-2.

The Lakers’ other match was another nailbiter, a 3-2 victory over Pacers Gaming. The two wins leave the Lakers as the only unbeaten team in the standings outside of the Bucks.

The Pacers lost 3-0 to Raptors Uprising GC to remain winless, though the Raptors fell to NetsGC in five. Hornets Venom GT and Kings Guard Gaming also failed to get their first wins, each going 0-2 on the day.

The Hornets lost 3-1 to DUX and 3-2 to the 76ers. The Kings lost 3-2 to the Celtics and were swept by Jazz Gaming. The Jazz also beat the Hawks 3-2. DUX beat the Mavs 3-1 to stay within striking distance of the Bucks.

Group play continues with 10 matches on Wednesday.
