The Utah Jazz signed general manager Justin Zanik to a multi-year contract extension on Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the Jazz.

“Justin’s basketball acumen, ability to create meaningful relationships throughout the league, and management of our front office are invaluable assets,” Jazz CEO of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. “We’re thrilled that he’ll continue to lead the team.”

Zanik, 47, is entering his fourth season as the team’s general manager. He initially joined the Jazz as assistant general manager in September 2013 and held the position for three seasons before leaving to assume that same job with the Milwaukee Bucks. He returned to Utah in the same role from 2017-19.

“My family and I have fallen in love with this great city and the state of Utah, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue this journey with the Utah Jazz,” Zanik said. “I have a deep appreciation for my partnership with (owner Ryan Smith) and Danny and am excited about our path forward with Coach (Will) Hardy. We look forward to building towards winning the championship our fans deserve.”

The Jazz made the playoffs in each of the past six seasons, but they lost in the first round three times and lost in the Western Conference semifinals the other three years. They posted a 49-33 record in 2021-22 and lost in the first round.
