The Cleveland Cavaliers officially announced a multi-year contract extension for center Jarrett Allen on Friday.

Terms were not disclosed, however multiple media outlets reported it was three-year max extension worth $91 million. Allen is signed through the 2028-29 season.

“We couldn’t be more excited that Jarrett Allen chose to extend in Cleveland for the prime of his career,” Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman said.

“Jarrett’s growth as a player, at just 26 years old, was accelerated when he earned his first All-Star selection in 2022. He is the anchor of our core group of players and his presence fits our vision for sustainable success. Jarrett also embodies the culture and values of our organization, and we look forward to achieving even greater things together.”

Allen averaged a career-high 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 77 starts for Cleveland last season.

He has averaged 12.7 points and 9.1 rebounds in 486 career games (421 starts) for the Brooklyn Nets (2017-21) and the Cavaliers. He was selected No. 22 overall by the Nets in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Allen is the third Cavaliers player to sign an extension this summer, joining All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell and forward Evan Mobley. Mitchell signed a three-year deal worth $150.3 million, while Mobley inked a five-year, $224.2 million contract.
