Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will miss Wednesday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with left hip soreness, The Athletic reported.

It will be the reigning MVP’s first missed game of the season.

Wednesday is the second night of a back-to-back for the Sixers. Embiid scored 32 points in Tuesday night’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played 41 minutes.

Embiid is averaging 31.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game in 14 starts this season. He averaged 33.1 PPG in winning his first MVP in 2022-23.

The Sixers are off to a 10-4 start.
