MLS: Sporting KC sign veteran German D Tim Leibold

Sporting Kansas City announced the signing of veteran German defender Tim Leibold on Thursday.

Leibold, 29, is signed through 2025 with an option for 2026 and he will occupy an international roster slot.

He spent the past decade in Germany, amassing more than 20 goals and 40 assists across nearly 300 games.

Leibold had played at Hamburger SV since 2019 following stints with FC Nurnberg (2015-19), VfB Stuttgart II (2013-15) and SGV Freiberg (2012-13).
