New England Revolution defender Andrew Farrell signed to a one-year contract extension on Friday using targeted allocation money for the 2023 MLS season.

The deal includes additional option years for 2024 and 2025.

Farrell, 30, has collected two goals and 12 assists in 304 regular-season appearances (301 starts) since joining the Revolution as the first overall pick of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. He had two assists in 32 appearances (all starts) last season with New England.

“Andrew Farrell is an important player in our team and has represented the Revolution with the utmost class throughout his decade with the club,” Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said. “Andrew’s durability on the field and leadership in the locker room will continue to benefit our team. We are happy to reward Andrew with this new contract.”
