The New York Red Bulls signed Duke midfielder Peter Stroud to a three-year homegrown contract.

The deal announced Saturday includes options for 2026 and 2027.

Stroud, 20, registered six goals and 12 assists in 55 appearances for the Blue Devils from 2020-22.

The two-time ACC Midfielder of the Year was a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist in 2022.

“We are very happy to sign Peter to a homegrown contract,” said NYRB sporting director Denis Hamlett. “Peter is a talented midfielder that has demonstrated great success at both collegiate and academy levels, and we are very delighted to have him at our club.”

Stroud, a native of Chester, N.J., played two seasons in England with West Ham United’s U-18 and U-23 sides. He also spent time as a youth with Red Bulls Academy.

“Peter has shown us many great qualities on and off the field,” said Red Bulls head coach Gerhard Struber. “He is an exciting young talent, and we are really looking forward to having him on our roster for next season.”

Stroud’s older brother, Jared, is a winger with MLS expansion club St. Louis CITY SC. Jared played with the Red Bulls in 2020.
