MLS: NYCFC M Andres Perea (leg) recovering from surgery

New York City FC midfielder Andres Perea underwent surgery Sunday for a right lower leg fracture and will begin the rehabilitation process, the club announced Monday.

Perea, who turns 25 on Friday, scored three goals and added an assist in 24 appearances this season, his third with NYCFC. In the club’s Round One playoff victory over Charlotte FC, he started all three games and contributed an assist.

Over six seasons with Orlando City SC (2020-22), the Philadelphia Union (2023) and NYCFC, the Tampa, Fla., native has 17 goal contributions (11 goals, six assists) in 144 games (74 starts).
