The deal with the 33-year-old veteran includes a $6.5 million club option in 2025, with a $500,000 buyout.

The contract also includes performance bonuses up to $1.25 million in both 2024 and 2025: $125,000 for 50 games pitched; $250,000 each for 55 and 60 games; $300,000 for 65 games; and $325,000 for 70 games.

Chafin previously pitched for the Tigers in 2022, when he went 2-3 with three saves and a 2.83 ERA in 64 relief appearances.

He split last season between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers, going 3-4 with eight saves and a 4.73 ERA in 63 games.

Over 10 major league seasons with five different clubs, Chafin is 17-24 with 19 saves and a 3.40 ERA across 539 games (three starts).
