The Kansas City Royals placed All-Star left-hander Kris Bubic on the 15-day injured list Sunday due a left rotator cuff strain.

The Royals also sent rookie outfielder Jac Caglianone to the 10-day IL with a strained left hamstring.

Bubic, 27, complained of shoulder stiffness following Saturday’s 6-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. He lasted only 2 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks.

The first-time All-Star is 8-7 with a 2.55 ERA through 20 starts this season. He has struck out 116 batters and walked 39 in 116 1/3 innings.

Bubic is 19-36 with a 4.14 ERA in 117 games (80 starts) since making his major league debut in 2020 for the Royals, who drafted him in the first round in 2018.

Caglianone felt tightness in his hamstring while running down a ball in the gap in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

The 22-year-old is batting .147 with five homers and 10 RBIs in 22 games this season.

The Royals recalled right-hander Jonathan Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Bowlan, 28, is 1-2 with a 4.94 ERA in 17 relief appearances this season for Kansas City.
