The Tampa Bay Rays are finalizing a three-year, $24 million contract extension with third baseman Yandy Diaz, multiple outlets reported Saturday.

The deal reportedly includes a club option for a fourth season in 2026.

Diaz, 31, and the Rays were scheduled to have an arbitration hearing after failing to reach an agreement by the Jan. 13 deadline. He won’t be eligible for free agency until 2025.

Diaz posted a .296/.401/.423 slash line in 2022 with 42 extra-base hits, 57 RBIs, 78 walks and just 60 strikeouts in 137 games.

The Cuban-born Diaz is a lifetime .278 hitter with 39 homers and 198 RBIs in 472 games with Cleveland (2017-18) and Tampa Bay.
