All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado has told the St. Louis Cardinals he is opting into the remainder of his five-year, $144 million contract, The Athletic reported Saturday.

Arenado, 31, will remain with the Cardinals through the 2027 season after declining the second and final opt-out on his deal.

Arenado batted .293 with 30 home runs and 103 RBIs in 148 games in 2022 while earning his seventh selection to the All-Star Game.

The nine-time Gold Glove winner is a career .289/.346/.535 hitter with 299 homers, 968 RBIs and 1,520 hits in 1,384 games with the Colorado Rockies (2013-20) and Cardinals.
