The Baltimore Orioles scratched Jack Flaherty from his scheduled Wednesday night start against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, with manager Brandon Hyde citing “general soreness.”

Fellow right-hander Dean Kremer moved up a day in the rotation and fired six shutout innings, though his appearance on Wednesday leaves a vacancy for the Thursday night series finale.

Flaherty allowed seven runs in three innings against the San Diego Padres in his latest start on Aug. 15.

Flaherty, 27, is 1-2 with a 7.07 ERA in three starts with Baltimore since being acquired in an Aug. 1 trade with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Flaherty was 7-6 with a 4.43 ERA in 20 starts for the Cardinals this season before the trade.

Kremer, 27, began the night 11-5 with a 4.50 ERA in 25 starts this season.

Also on Wednesday, the Orioles made several bullpen transactions.

Right-hander Mike Baumann, the losing pitcher on Tuesday after yielding three runs (two earned) against the Blue Jays, was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. Right-hander Austin Voth, who was out since mid-June due to right elbow soreness, returned from the 60-day injured list, and left-hander Keegan Akin landed on the 60-day IL with a sore lower back.
