Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki has an MRI scheduled Sunday for his injured left oblique, the Chicago Tribune reported.

He was scratched from Saturday’s Cactus League opener against the San Francisco Giants with tightness in his side.

Suzuki, 28, batted .262 with 14 homers, 46 RBIs and a .770 OPS in 111 games during his rookie season in 2022.

He signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Cubs last March after playing nine seasons in his native Japan.
