Robert “Sebatron” Brustein won both of his matches and was selected the Player of the Day as the new Madden Championship Series Pro League got underway with the “Game Time” round on Tuesday.
Sebatron defeated Jalen “Astro” Morrow-Reynolds 34-28, and he edged Noah “Noah” Snipes 43-42.
“People say I got lucky, but I was down 14 without ball in the fourth quarter. That’s fight right there, nothing but fight,” Sebatron said. “Madden’s a long game and you’re not going to win on one play. I got lucky on a lot of plays — especially the last one. I really had to lock in and fight on that last game.
“I’m just gonna go home smiling the entire plane ride. I’m pumped to be 2-0, it’s such a good start to the league.”
Sebatron, 22, had to fight simply to get into the inaugural eight-player MCS Pro League competition. He survived open qualifying, then made it through a 256-player double-elimination event to earn one of the four available spots to compete alongside top-ranked pros Astro, Drini “Drini” Gjoka, Henry “Henry” Leverette and Jonathan “JonBeast” Marquez.
Drini is the reigning Madden Bowl champion, having defeated Astro in the title match in February, and he also won the 2019 Madden Bowl. Henry captured Madden Bowl individual championship belts in 2022 and 2024, and he was part of the winning three-man team in 2021. JonBeast was the 2025 Madden Bowl runner-up.
One of the four qualifiers for the new Pro League was competitive Madden veteran Wesley “Wes” Gittens, who joined Henry and Jack “NBG” Kronstein to form the 2021 title team. Wes lost to Henry in individual Madden Bowl finals in both 2022 and 2024.
Wes won his opener on Tuesday, topping Drini 35-30. Drini also fell to Astro 31-27.
Henry pushed past JonBeast 33-29. In a matchup of qualifiers, Noah bested Jeremy “Chosen” Murphy 47-35. Chosen notched his first win by outscoring JonBeast 50-37.
The eight players are vying for spots in the four-man playoff that will determine the Pro League champion. The league competition also will include the “Breakouts” event on Oct. 6, the “Most Feared” event on Nov. 11 and the “Zero Chill” event on Dec. 15.
