Aurora Gaming, Natus Vincere and GamerLegion secured playoff berths Tuesday at the PGL Wallachia Season 9 event in Bucharest, Romania.
Competing in Round 4 action between 2-1 teams, Aurora swept LGD Gaming while NAVI defeated 1w Team 2-1 and GamerLegion beat Team Nemesis by the same score.
Under the modified Swiss system, earning their third wins was enough to advance out of the group stage at the 16-team, $1 million Dota 2 tournament. Team Yandex and Xtreme Gaming previously advanced to the playoffs with 3-0 records.
Tuesday’s action also saw three more teams eliminated thanks to their 1-3 records. Conventus Stellarum swept Yakult Brothers and MOUZ did the same to Hokori, while Pipsqueak+4 sent Team Cobra home with a 2-1 win.
The top eight teams advance to the double-elimination playoffs, which run from Thursday to Sunday. All matches are best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final, where the winner will earn $300,000.
