
Evil Geniuses ran its record to 2-0 and TSM won their opening match in the conclusion of Week 1 of the Dota Pro Circuit North America: ESL One Spring 2022 event on Saturday.
Geniuses won consecutive maps over Wildcard Gaming (0-2), in 48 minutes on green and 23 minutes on red, respectively. Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko of Russia led Geniuses with a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 10-3-12.5, and Canada’s Artour “Arteezy” Babaev was right behind at 9.5-3-8.5. Cedric “Davai Lama” of Belgium finished at 6-4.5-7 for Wildcard, and Luke “YamSun” Wang of the U.S. was at 6-4.5-3.
The other match paired teams also making their event debuts. TSM defeated Team DogChamp in back-to-back maps in 29 and 37 minutes, both on red. David “Moonmeander” Tan Boon Yang of Canada paced TSM with a K-D-A of 13-2-22.5, while Denis “Stonebank” Korzh of Ukraine was at 6.5-6.5-4.5 for DogChamp.
Eight teams are competing in a single round robin over six weeks with all matches best-of-three. The top two finishers qualify for ESL One Stockholm 2022, and the bottom two teams will be relegated to Division II for the next tour.
The competition continues Tuesday when Week 2 begins with one match:
