AWPer Florian “syrsoN” Rische has opted to take himself out of BIG’s starting lineup, Dexerto reported Wednesday.

The 26-year-old German’s decision comes on the heels of BIG finishing in 13th-16th place in IEM Katowice and 7th-9th place following the group stage exit in the BLAST Premier Spring Finals.

Marcel “hyped” Kohn, 21, will fill in for syrsoN at the IEM Brazil Closed Qualifier, which begins Wednesday. BIG announced on Twitter that syrsoN will miss the event due to “personal reasons.”

syrsoN joined BIG in January 2020 and assumed the AWP position left vacant after the departure of Owen “smooya” Butterfield.

BIG’s All-German roster consists of Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, Nils “k1to” Gruhne, Josef “faveN” Baumann, Karim “Krimbo” Moussa and hyped. Countryman Fatih “gob b” Dayik” is the coach and syrsoN is benched.
