Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t play with ENCE in the IEM Winter 2021 tournament, which begins Thursday.
Standing in will be Pavle “Maden” Boskovic of FunPlus Phoenix.
Snappi, the 31-year-old in-game leader from Denmark, has been with ENCE since January.
FPX stopped its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive operations earlier this month, making Maden, from Montenegro, available. The 23-year-old posted to social media that he is looking forward to the opportunity.
“Happy to be back at tier 1 tournaments and to stand-in for @ENCE,” he wrote, adding to Snappi, “hope you get well soon mate!”
The $250,000 IEM Winter features 16 teams playing in a studio without a live audience in Stockholm. ENCE will make its debut in the 10-day tournament Thursday against Virtus Pro.
