Vernon Adams Jr. aims to help the ascending Calgary Stampeders win a third straight road game and clinch a playoff berth on Saturday when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Adams has pocketed consecutive CFL Player of the Week honors during a three-game winning streak for the Stampeders (8-8). He recorded three touchdowns in Calgary’s 45-31 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks on Sept. 26 and added four more in a 37-31 triumph over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Oct. 2.

“Yeah … it feels good,” Adams said, per the Calgary Herald. “You know, we want to start hitting our stride right now. You don’t want to get too big-headed or anything like that. But we’re going to enjoy this, and we’re going to correct those mistakes, and we’ve gotta go to another hostile environment this week.”

Adams, who sports an 8-4 record against Winnipeg, is 75 passing yards shy of his third 4,000-yard season.

Wideout Jalen Philpot owns 23 catches for 317 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games.

The Stampeders can punch their ticket to the playoffs with either a win over the Blue Bombers (7-8) or a victory in their home finale against the BC Lions (9-6).

Calgary and Winnipeg each have won a game at the other’s stadium this season. The winner of Saturday’s contest earns the tiebreaker.

Blue Bombers veteran quarterback Zach Collaros, a two-time Most Outstanding Player winner, will return Saturday after a two-game absence due to a head injury. The 38-year-old followed up limited participation in practice on Wednesday with a full session the following day.

“It had more to do with just feeling right and being back out there,” said Collaros, who has missed six games this season due to injury.

“The return to play — that entire process, doing that and again, just feel good. I would not be going out there if there (were) any reservations.”

Winnipeg has lost two in a row to find itself in the cellar of the West Division. The Blue Bombers dropped a 37-10 decision to the Montreal Alouettes last week.
