The Los Angeles Thieves and OpTic Texas both won their respective matches 3-1 on Saturday to remain undefeated in qualifying action for the Call of Duty League’s Major IV.

The Thieves took down the Los Angeles Guerrillas to improve to 3-0, while OpTic defeated the New York Subliners to remain unbeaten through two matches after sweeping the London Royal Ravens last Sunday.

Major IV, which includes all 12 Call of Duty League teams, runs through April 16, with each victory worth 10 CDL points.

Both squads used dominating wins on the opening map to carry momentum throughout the match.

Following a 250-89 rout on Embassy Hardpoint, the Thieves dropped a 6-4 decision on Al Bagra Fortress Search & Destroy before cruising past the Guerrillas on El Asilo Control (3-0) and Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint (250-102).

Sam “Octane” Larew led the winning side with 69 kills and a stunning plus-2.16 kills-deaths differential, while Joseph “JoeDeceives” Romero paced the Guerrillas with team-high 51-kills in the all-American battle between Los Angeles rivals.

Texas opened with a 250-92 triumph on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint, but the Subliners responded with a narrow 6-4 win on Breenbergh Hotel Search & Destroy. It didn’t take long for OpTic to snuff any chance of a comeback, though, as they prevailed 3-1 on El Asilo Control before a 250-212 victory on Zarqwa Hydroelectric sealed the result.

Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro of the United States finished with a match-high 78 kills and a plus-1.26 K-D ratio for Texas, while teammate Brandon “Dashy” Otell of Canada supplied 69 kills. The United States’ Preston “Priestahh” Greiner racked up 63 kills for New York, but fellow American Cesar “Skyz” Bueno was the only member of the Subliners to finish with a positive K-D ratio (plus-1.04).

In other Saturday action, the Royal Ravens rallied from a match-opening 250-117 loss on Zarqwa Hyrdoelectric Hardpoint to dispatch the Vegas Legion 3-1. The Atlanta FaZe followed suit, losing on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint before rattling off three straight victories to beat the Toronto Ultra 3-1.

Qualifying action continues Sunday with three matches:
–Vegas Legion vs. Los Angeles Guerrillas
–Toronto Ultra vs. Florida Mutineers
