The Atlanta FaZe took down the Los Angeles Thieves 4-2 in Sunday’s grand final to win the Call of Duty League Major II in Boston.

After dropping the opening map of the best-of-seven final by the narrowest of margins, the FaZe took control to claim victory after finishing third at the season-opening Major I in December.

The FaZe got past the Minnesota Rokkr 3-2 in the winners bracket final earlier in the day to clinch their berth in the grand final. The Thieves, after starting the day with a 3-1 triumph over OpTic Texas, swept Minnesota 3-0 in the elimination bracket final to set up the matchup with Atlanta.

To open the winners bracket final, the Rokkr won 250-223 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint. The FaZe countered with a 6-4 win on El Asilo Search and Destroy. Minnesota took El Asilo Control 3-2, but Atlanta rallied from there, routing the Rokkr 250-137 on Embassy Hardpoint and eking out the clinching 6-5 win on Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy.

Meanwhile, the Thieves dropped their opening map to Texas 250-203 but earned some close wins from there. Los Angeles took Embassy Search and Destroy 6-5, Al Bagra Fortress Control 3-2 and Embassy Hardpoint 250-243 to advance.

Against Minnesota in the elimination bracket final, the Thieves cruised 250-168 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint, 6-4 on Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Al Bagra Fortress Control.

That propelled the Thieves to the grand final, where they kept their momentum going by pulling out a 250-248 victory on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint.

Atlanta answered by winning 6-3 on Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy and 3-2 on Breenbergh Hotel Control.

Los Angeles tied the match 2-2 by winning Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint 250-180, but the FaZe moved back in front by grabbing El Asilo Search and Destroy 6-5 and polished off the championship by blanking the Thieves 3-0 on El Asilo Control.

Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris posted a series-high 111 kills to guide the FaZe, and all four Atlanta players finished with positive kill-death ratios. Dylan “Envoy” Hannon led Los Angeles with 99 kills but also took 109 deaths.
