Novak Djokovic confirmed Friday that he will join Team Europe at the Laver Cup, completing a “Big Four” dream team with Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray.

The European lineup, coached by Bjorn Borg, will face John McEnroe’s Team World in the fifth edition of the event from Sept. 23-25 at London’s 02 Arena.

Djokovic, coming off his seventh Wimbledon title, will make his first Laver Cup appearance since 2018 in Chicago.

“It’s the only competition where you can play in a team environment with guys that you’re normally competing against and to be joining Rafa, Roger and Andy — three of my biggest all-time rivals — it’s going to be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport,” the 35-year-old Serbian star said.

Two roster spots remain open for Team Europe. So far, the Team World lineup includes American Taylor Fritz, Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Team Europe is 4-0 in Laver Cup competition, including a lopsided 14-1 victory in Boston in 2021.
