Houston Texans Pro Bowl offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil has a torn ligament in his thumb that will require surgery at some point, NFL Network reported Monday.

The hope is, however, that the left tackle will be able to play through the torn UCL and put off surgery to the offseason, per the report.

Tunsil was injured in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots and left the game. He was replaced by Geron Christian.

Tunsil, 27, has made the Pro Bowl the past two seasons. He has started all 77 games he has played in since being taken No. 13 overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2016 draft. He’s in his third season in Houston.
