NCAAB: Nebraska F Juwan Gary (shoulder surgery) out for season

Nebraska starting forward Juwan Gary will undergo surgery on his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the season.

Gary, a transfer from Alabama, had started the first 17 games of the season for the Cornhuskers and averaged 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

“He brings so much to our team with his toughness and rebounding, and he was playing some of his best basketball when he got hurt,” coach Fred Hoiberg said Wednesday night.

The Cornhuskers beat visiting Ohio State 63-60 on Wednesday to improve to 10-9 (3-5 Big Ten).
