2021 64th Annual Grammy Awards Nominees Are Announced. There are changes about how The Recording Academy announces the awards this year. They will do away anonymous selection committees and over 11,000 voters will be able to choose nominees in certain categories. Those with full membership will be able to help decide the song of the year.

The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has says he will commit to rebuild trust in the Grammys and will be increasing membership.
AP News reported,” “We’re learning and we’re changing,” Mason said in an interview at his studio in Burbank, California. He’s a successful producer who has worked with Beyoncé, Chris Brown, and Whitney Houston. He was elected president and CEO of the academy in May after holding the interim title last year, becoming the first Black person to hold the position. He was previously chair of the academy’s board.
The Grammy Awards will air Jan. 31 in Los Angeles. The Recording Academy has committed to increasing diversity for those that work on the ceremony no matter what level the contribute to the show.
