$1,000 Fine for a Barking Dog in Atlanta- Could It Become Law in Your City?

The city of Atlanta has modified its nuisance animal rule, and dog owners may now face steep fines. Anyone who lives or works within a mile of the obnoxious dog or animal is eligible to lodge a complaint.
According to WSB-TV, the Atlanta City Council revised the measure this week in an effort to reduce obtrusive noise in densely populated Atlanta districts.

If an Atlanta pet owner’s dog won’t stop barking, they might be fined up to $1,000. These fines can be avoided, and the new law can give dog owners a better understanding of their canine companions.
The New Ordinance in Atlanta

An owner might receive a fine under Atlanta’s nuisance animal legislation if their dog barked continuously for 20 minutes . This time has been slashed in half with the most recent update. Owners may now be subject to fines if their dog barks repeatedly over 10 minutes. Owners are subject to a $150 fine for their first offense. A larger fine, up to $1,000, is assessed for each subsequent offense.

It’s crucial to remember that this regulation applies to all disturbing animals, not only barking dogs, even though dog owners should be especially conscious of it.

For dogs, owners can buy barking collars which help reduce barking.
