
Undefeated UConn enters the postseason as the consensus No. 1 team in the Associated Press women’s Top 25 poll released on Monday.
The defending national champion Huskies (31-0) have won 47 consecutive games and received all 31 votes from the national media panel in a week where the top nine teams were unchanged.
UConn is followed by UCLA, South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt, LSU, Oklahoma, Michigan and Iowa. TCU (27-4) moved up one spot to No. 10 and replaced Louisville (25-6), which fell two spots to No. 12.
The Southeastern Conference leads the way with eight teams in the poll, followed by the Big Ten with seven and the Big 12 with four. The Atlantic Coast Conference has three schools and the Ivy League, Big East and MAAC each have one.
North Carolina (25-6) made the week’s biggest leap, climbing five spots to No. 16. No. 25 Fairfield (25-4) entered the Top 25 for the second time in three seasons and Alabama dropped out.
