OVERWATCH: Team Falcons jolt Crazy Raccoon to win Champions Series finals

Team Falcons defeated Crazy Raccoon in both the upper-bracket and grand finals to capture the Overwatch Champions Series 2024 Finals on Sunday in Stockholm.

Hak-yong “Stalk3r” Jeong of South Korea was named the MVP of the grand final after the Falcons recorded a 4-1 victory in the best-of-seven match.

Team Falcons got off to a fast start with a 2-0 triumph on Oasis and 3-0 victory on Suravasa before Crazy Raccoon responded with a 3-0 win on Watchpoint: Gibraltar. The Falcons rebounded with a 3-2 triumph on King’s Row and a closing victory on Esperanca.

Eight teams qualified for the championship event, formatted in a double-elimination bracket. After Friday’s initial quarterfinal matches were best-of-three, the matches in the next round were best-of-five until the best-of-seven grand final on Sunday.

The prize pool is still will be determined; it’s being crowdfunded by a cut of the revenue from in-game purchases.

Team Falcons posted a 3-0 win over Crazy Raccoon in the upper-bracket final earlier Sunday, however the latter set up the return match with a 3-0 win over Toronto Defiant in the lower-bracket final.

The Falcons advanced to the grand final after notching a 2-1 win on Oasis, 3-1 victory on Suravasa and a triumph on Runasapi.

Crazy Raccoon joined the Falcons in the final after seizing a 2-1 victory on Ilios, 3-2 win on Shambali Monastery and 3-0 triumph on New Junk City.
