The Florida Mayhem made headlines earlier this month by releasing six players from their contracts, igniting a full-scale reconstruction effort. That rebuild has now officially begun, as the Mayhem announced Monday the hiring of a new head coach, Jordan “Gunba” Graham.

Gunba served as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Valiant from 2018 to 2020, helping the squad record a first place finish at the OWL Inaugural Season Stage 4 Title Matches. He replaces former Mayhem head coach Dae-kuk “KuKi” Kim.
A native of Australia, Gunba has also served as an assistant coach on his country’s team during Overwatch World Cup 2018.
The Mayhem finished 10th in the West Region during the 2021 season and did not make the postseason.
Following that finish, the team bid farewell to main tank Min-seok “OGE” Son, off-tank Beom-jun “Gargoyle” Lee, main support Sung-jin “Slime” Kim, flex support Nam-jin “Gangnamjin” Kang and DPS players Sang-beom “BQB” Lee and Seung-hun “Checkmate” Baek.
Only DPS Jun-ki “Yaki” Kim survived the purge as the Mayhem gear up for the 2022 OWL season, which begins in April.
