The Utah Royals played Angel City to a 0-0 draw in Sandy, Utah, on Friday night, picking up a point for just the second time in seven matches. That said, considering their dominance in possession, the Royals could have easily walked away with more.

Utah (1-11-4, 7 points) owned a 55.1 possession percentage while firing 14 shots (compared with 10 by Angel City), including five on goal (two for the visitors). With the draw, the Royals are now winless over their last 11 matches and failed to break through for their first win since April.

Mindy McGlynn earned the clean sheet for Utah — her second of the season and first since April 18.

Hannah Seabert picked up a clean sheet for Angel City in her NWSL debut. Angel City (4-7-5, 17 points) earned a point on the road for the second straight week but are also winless in eight consecutive matches, dating back to a 2-0 victory over Utah on May 9.

Kennedy Fuller nearly got Angel City on the board in the 54th minute, blasting a shot from outside the box on the tail end of a counterattack, but the ball bounced off the crossbar. Outside of that attempt, however, Angel City struggled to create any real scoring chances after halftime.

Utah dominated possession through much of the second half. Still, aggressiveness and ball control didn’t translate to many clean looks at the net. The Royals created plenty of shots, but nearly all came from outside the box.
